UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Christine Burley
BSc (Hons) Health Sciences - Complementary Therapies

”I had not realised that my eldest daughter Victoria had also applied for
the BSc Health Science degree as a vocational course. We were mature
students and, although I initially found going back to studying after a gap of
25 years challenging, we found being able to work together very positive as
well as developing new aspects of our relationship.”

Raffaello Bartocci
BSc (Hons) Software Engineering

"The University of Westminster has given me the opportunity to turn passion
into profession. The large number of modules to choose from, together with a
truly multi-cultural environment and excellent accessibility to the campuses
in central London makes this transition really enjoyable."

Sukhpreet Seyan
BA (Hons) Town Planning
The degree covers related disciplines such as economic development,
social inclusion and environmental issues. This provided me with an
understanding of the inter-relationship between these issues in planning and
a scope to specialise for my dissertation. It gave me the confidence and skill
to work for a district council planning department whilst completing my
final year. The lecturers are more than happy to help when the going gets
tough. The course would definitely appeal to those with an interest in social
sciences, development economics and geography.”

A
hmed Z Hassan
BSc (Hons) Mobile Communications

“Studying in the heart of London has been a really exciting, enjoyable and
rewarding experience for me. The course is a mixture of new and pioneering
areas of study in the mobile communications fields along with the more
traditional electronic engineering core modules. This helped me to develop
an understanding of current electronics and communications industries and
to envisage the fast occurring changes that I will become part of in the future.”

Parvinder Aujla
BA (Hons) Business
“As Managing Director of the student-run company Westminster Business
Consultants (WBC), I have gained business experience that I believe
complements my degree and makes me more employable. I have worked
with local businesses, high-ranking government officials and attended
European conferences. Through WBC there are tremendous opportunities
that you cannot find anywhere else in the UK.”

POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS

Canturk Isci graduated from Bilkent University in 2000, with a
First Class BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He was
awarded the Millennium Scholarship jointly sponsored by the University
of Westminster and the British Council for the MSc VLSI System Design.
His studies at Westminster paved the way for him to be awarded a full
scholarship by Princeton University as a graduate fellow in Computer
Engineering. He is now working on low-power processor architectures.

Christine Whiteside
“I enjoyed studying for my MBA at the Harrow Business School.
The course content was extremely relevant to today's ever-changing
business world and was delivered by a team of professional tutors who
were supportive throughout the programme. The course also assisted
me in making a decision for a change of career, which has benefited me
enormously.”

Clare Mullen
"Studying Marketing (MA Marketing - Westminster Business School)
at Westminster enabled me to develop key strategic planning and marketing
skills which I now use every day. Working in groups with fellow students meant
that I gained a different perspective on many issues and the central London
location was very convenient for me".

David Longbottom
“Having worked for ten years in housing regeneration in inner-London
I decided to do the MA Urban Regeneration (part-time) course to broaden
my knowledge of urban regeneration and to demonstrate to future employers
that I can balance my practical experience with a theoretical knowledge of the
subject. In fact, I have found that the course has offered a broad range of
academic analysis, policy context and practical guidance from both academics
and practitioners in the field."

Helen Lim
"I’ve been studying for an MA in English Literature at Westminster while
working full-time in publishing. The course places literary and cultural texts
in a variety of contexts and has allowed me to explore the subject I love in
greater depth with the opportunity to pursue my individual interests. The
department’s staff are innovative and inspiring, and their enthusiasm is catching."

Prince Maselino
“I completed my BSc in Computing at the Cavendish School of
Computer Science and chose to expand my knowledge by embarking
on a PhD at the Centre for Parallel Computing. My research focuses on
3D virtual environments, high performance parallel computing and urban
traffic simulation. The University offers good computing facilities and its
central location in a modern, culturally rich city makes it an ideal place to study.”

Rukhsana Mashood received an Alumni Award from the University
of Westminster upon completion of her undergraduate degree to study
for her MA in Marketing. She then entered British Telecom Plc on the
Graduate Scheme, as E-Media Marketing Manager.

Sarah Jones Ang
Sarah came from the Philippines to take the MA International Business
and Management. "Westminster has given me the opportunity to study in
the heart of London. Its international community has perfectly complemented
my course. The assimilation of different cultures and business practice is
happening right inside the classroom. I believe Westminster's well-designed
course modules has given me a strong foundation that will definitely act as
a stepping stone towards achieving my dreams".

Daniel Smith
MSc International Finance
"One of the main reasons for choosing WBS in London was the opportunity
to study a semester at CERAM Sophia Antipolis in France. The two institutions
compliment each other in their teaching methods. Coming from a science
background, I thought that the courses offered during first semester in London
fully introduced the main theoretical aspects of finance and sufficiently prepared
me to go on and develop these ideas during the second semester at CERAM
Sophia Antipolis. One of the great things about the courses there, particularly
in Market Economics and Country Risk, is the focus on the ability to form
opinions. The teaching methods are practical and applied, involving discussions
and seminars that encourage class participation and develop transferable skills
such as putting ideas across effectively. Studying in England and France and
taking an internship Italy has been a true European experience and I can
recommend it for anybody wishing to enter the international career market."
